What about a Culture of a Worldwide Monetary Reform and/or A better form of the bartering system every time we end up with economic problems?
A Culture of Environment+Religion+something similar to the Venus project.com (project ain't entirely based on reality) + a more advanced type of old bartering system ... Don't think we could withstand another World War (economic problems) do you???
Culture of mending - Make this "*fashionable* with a Saachi and Saachi style campaign and *affordable* and do-able (so that such mending is not mor e expensive than buying new).
Return to a culture of mending, altering (as in clothes), making do, and giving away, rather than throwing away.
Insist that all new complexes have composting facilities installed to start with; develop large bins of this sort for old ones and publicise and possibly subsidise them.
